Ingredients

2 large English cucumbers, sliced into rounds

6 ounces cream cheese, softened

4 ounces smoked salmon, cut into small pieces

2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon capers

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Lemon zest for garnish

Instructions

1. Slice the cucumbers into 1/4 inch thick rounds and pat dry.

2. Mix the cream cheese with lemon juice, half the dill, and black pepper until smooth.

3. Spoon or pipe the cream cheese onto each cucumber round.

4. Top with a small piece of smoked salmon.

5. Garnish with fresh dill, a caper, and a pinch of lemon zest.

6. Arrange on a platter and serve chilled.

Notes

Use cold cream cheese for firmer piping consistency.

Assemble up to 30 minutes ahead and keep refrigerated until serving.

Add a thin slice of red onion under the salmon for extra flavor.
