Description

Smoked Salmon Bagel Bites are a quick and elegant appetizer with all the classic flavors of a smoked salmon bagel in mini form. Toasted bagel pieces hold cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, red onion, cucumber, and dill for a savory bite.

Ingredients

2 plain bagels

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

4 ounces smoked salmon, sliced into small pieces

2 tablespoons capers, drained

2 tablespoons red onion, thinly sliced

1/2 Persian cucumber, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Slice each bagel into bite-size wedges or small rounds.

2. Toast the bagel pieces until lightly crisp and golden.

3. Stir the cream cheese with lemon juice until smooth.

4. Spread a layer of cream cheese on each toasted bagel piece.

5. Top each piece with cucumber, smoked salmon, capers, and red onion.

6. Sprinkle with dill and black pepper.

7. Serve right away or chill briefly before serving.

Notes

Toast the bagel pieces fully so they stay crisp under the toppings.

Assemble close to serving time to keep the bagel from softening.

Everything bagels also work well for extra flavor.
